Choose the duration that suits your energy level—whether you’re looking for a refreshing morning experience or a deeper exploration into the wild forest.

OPTION 1: The Sawah Trip (4 Hours Walk)

The Essence of Tetebatu: A Perfect Half-Day Nature Experience

This 4-hour package is the ideal, refreshing introduction to the beauty of Tetebatu’s countryside. It suits all fitness levels looking for scenic views and cultural glimpses without committing to a full-day excursion.

Trek Highlights

  • Iconic Rice Paddies: Walk along the narrow paths dividing the fields, observing farmers use the traditional Subak irrigation method.
  • Aromatic Plantations: Pass through local gardens, smelling the fresh scents of coffee, vanilla, and cloves.
  • Hidden Waterfall: Take a break and cool off at a refreshing local waterfall.
  • Village Interactions: Pass through local hamlets to catch a glimpse of the simple, daily life of the residents.

Trekking Route Details (The Essentials)

Your expert local guide will lead you along a trail designed to maximize the scenery in a shorter time. You’ll start with a gentle stroll through the tiered, ever-green rice fields. Next, you’ll explore various plantations, seeing how the local tropical produce is grown. The journey culminates with a relaxing moment beneath a clear waterfall before heading back to your accommodation.

OPTION 2: The Sawah Trip (4 – 6 Hours Walk)

The Deep Dive: Trekking, Plantations & The Black Monkey Forest

For hikers who want to go further and see more of Tetebatu’s natural wonders, this 4–6-hour package offers a more immersive and intense adventure. You will cover a longer trail, venturing into remote forested areas.

Trek Highlights (All of Option 1, Plus the Wild)

  • All 4-Hour Highlights: Includes the iconic rice fields, aromatic plantations, and the waterfall visit.
  • Black Monkey Forest: Trek deeper into the secondary forest zone, the primary habitat of the rare and endemic Black Monkey (Pitu).
  • Extended Trail: Explore more secluded areas, far away from regular tourist crowds.
  • Ecological Insights: Your guide will provide in-depth commentary on the local flora and fauna.

Trekking Route Details (The Full Experience)

The journey starts similarly to the 4-hour trek, but after visiting the waterfall, the route extends into denser, more isolated areas. The main focus of this extension is entering the protected forest reserve. Your guide will use their local knowledge to track and point out the shy Black Monkeys—this is a very special, authentic wildlife moment. The additional time ensures ample opportunity for observation, rest, and soaking in the deep tranquility of the forest before returning to the village.
