The Tetebatu Cycle Tour: Pedal Through Paradise

Ready to swap the tour bus for an immersive, wind-in-your-hair experience? The Tetebatu Cycle Tour is the ultimate way to engage your senses and discover the hidden corners of Lombok’s green heart.

This isn’t just exercise; it’s an eco-friendly journey through the sights, sounds, and smells of authentic village life. We’ll guide you away from the main roads and deep into the winding paths that traverse rice fields, plantations, and dense forests. Get closer to nature, meet the locals, and uncover the magic of Tetebatu at a rewarding, relaxed pace.

What You’ll Experience on This Tour

  • Rare Wildlife Spotting: Cycle through the primary habitat of the endemic Black Monkey (Lutung).
  • Rice Terrace Immersion: Ride along the edge of lush, verdant, layered rice fields.
  • Plantation Discovery: See and smell local crops like coffee, cocoa, cloves, and vanilla.
  • Refreshing Reward: Cool off with a swim at a beautiful, hidden mountain waterfall.

Your Journey Through the Tetebatu Countryside

Our cycle tour is expertly designed to provide a perfect balance of activity, scenery, and local culture.

1. Scenic Start: Rolling Rice Fields The adventure begins on two wheels! We’ll start by cycling along the ancient Subak (traditional irrigation system) paths that snake through Tetebatu’s most iconic scenery: the terraced rice fields. Watch farmers tenderly care for their crops, admire the water buffalo grazing peacefully, and feel the genuine tranquility of rural Lombok. The views here are breathtaking and change with the season—from reflective pools to towering green stalks.

2. Plantation Exploration: A Feast for the Senses Pedal through working village plantations. Your guide will stop to show you the source of some of the world’s most fragrant and flavorful spices and commodities. Smell the intense aroma of freshly picked cloves, examine cocoa pods on the branch, and learn about the cultivation of local Tetebatu coffee. This is a chance to connect with the agricultural foundation of the region.

3. The Quest for the Black Monkey (Lutung) The highlight for nature lovers! We’ll cycle into the quieter, forested areas known to be the natural home of the rare and beautiful Black Monkey (Presbytis comata). These primates are shy, but with the quiet approach of a bicycle and the expertise of your local guide, you have an excellent chance of spotting them leaping gracefully through the canopy.

4. The Final Reward: Waterfall Dip After the sun-drenched ride, a cool, cascading reward awaits. We’ll arrive at a secluded local waterfall. Take a well-deserved rest, enjoy a refreshing snack, and plunge into the clear, cool mountain spring water. It’s the perfect invigorating finish to your cycling adventure.
